The new video stream module is easy to find under our svn.
At the moment i'm preparing an RC for public access.

This version will be only running 100% under PHP Nuke Evolution 2.1.0 Final Version.  

 

Install and Uninstall Optimized and corrected.

For those who would like to test it and help me with corrections and ideas, please PM me.

should this module stream WMV files or strictly youtube? I tried to link in a wmv from my site but didn't get a video stream.
There is no text on any of the side blocks or the module itself so I don't know what I am missing there but I would imagine it would be the rating, comment, description areas.
I made two categories in the main category, one called main and one called The other called Vehicles. Nothing showed up in the Vehicles main, so I made a sub category "sub vehicles" This worked fine and the videos showed up np.
None of the descriptions I filled in show up anywhere but this is probably due to the missing text thing.

Manage Videos: Everything seems to work fine, view count is good, edit works, delete also works and all info is filled in as it should be.
Video Stream Settings: I cannot test this portion because of the text being missing, default point and avatar settings are there however.
Add Videos: Nearest I can tell this is working fine as well, again the text I fill in doesn't show up on page but is saved in the backend so I have no reason to believe there is anything buggy there.
Broken Videos: I cannot test this portion yet for reasons mentioned above this list
Manage Categories: aside from what I mentioned above I cannot find anything bugged.
Request Videos: I cannot test this portion yet for reasons mentioned above this list
Permission Settings: More or less I need to see text to fully test the rest of the module

My personal opinion of this module is that it is going to awesome once the bugs are worked out. I have been wanting something like this for a while and I am sure I am not the only one. It is one thing to be able to link a youtube vid in the forums that is neat but due to the nature of forums they disappear quickly. This would centralize them and that would be a huge plus. Plus ratings are a good thing also.

Do you have plans for a search function?<< nevermind on this one I looked at the code a little and see there will be search functions

BTW I am no where near done testing. This is just initial testing from this morning, I have a xmas party to be at this afternoon and will start picking at it again once I arrive back home this evening.

Yes this will stream wav mov mp3 mp4 google etc etc etc. but once at a time. next Rev will habe more info about that. probably Rev.600

The first block will show all videos except the one you'r seeing, The second block will only show videos which title contains some values similar to the video you'r watching. This values are depending on the title you give when you add the video.

This is getting solved I still don't know where to put it.
I'll add a button to choose between showing the original youtube description or the on you gave in. maybe

OKay I'll keep going testing  

I would like to be able as admin or maybe even moderators or groups to sticky a video that is always on top, so when people open the module that would be the active video.

I know this is a ways off but xfire would be a popular addition I am sure especially if it could stream the live broadcasts.  

By the way the install was perfect, I have also been able to delete videos and categories with no issues either. I installed it at home on wamp also with no issues and plan to try the uninstall feature tomorrow as of now though I am dead

The whole Live Broadcast thing is maybe a year old and they only recently allowed us to display this on a web page via embed, This is the code from my nick, which I sometimes turn on as a block on my gaming site. << please see attachment


Ultimately I was planning on doing some sort of module with this at some point, but with my recent site move and the opportunity to help here and life I don't have the time ATM. Still I think it would be a cool addition/option for your stream module

BTW I updated this morning to rev1101 and if I click one of the links on the modules right tables I get this error

edit:  I uninstalled the module, and then re installed the module and began adding videos and it seems to now be fine, I had tried dumping the cache prior to the post but not uninstalling.  

 

well simplexml_load_string() is a function go capture every information about that same video. This function is only loaded if video REALY belongs to youtube. Otherwise forget it.

Are you sure your you didn't embeded from any other place?
Just for the record, the value you have to introduce under "video Url" must be the one written inside URL and not the not written inside EMBED...

I think i'll have to create a function for that too.
If you check, by adding only the url, the video width and height will get default values 350/350 which doesn't match with the original. The EMBED contains some more information about this values and could be much easyer to get thouse values.

Yes I am, nothing but youtube. All were done correctly, all values filled in correctly. I did not use the embed codes I just filled in the boxes with what they needed. embed codes are for raw code such as html not forms.

There is a component for joomla that does this as well but auto completes the forms, so all you have to do is add the video url... this would be a nice time saving feature. I have a copy of it somewhere but have lost the link.

an update..

I have maybe 15 videos linked in into 2 categories and when traveling from one to the next it is starting to take longer and longer and I am getting white screens often. I have also noticed that in the manage videos section that it does not change to the next page when you have more then the default per page number of videos linked.

By changing the number to a higher number then the amount of videos linked it will display them all.

I was keeping it view only for registered so I can track the count on the videos also which seems to be correct for the most part. I would think a switch could handle weather or not to display your comments on the video or the comments of the original poster similar to the view count beside the thunbnail would be one way to go maybe?

I added a typical input pic so you can see how I have been adding them in.    

 

i'm changing a little the way the script handels with the embed/url code
The same with the width and height.
Changed as well the administrator handel.

By updating to this new Rev that i'll release, you don't have to install or uninstall anything. just replace the current files.

Now adding a video will be much easyer. both urls will be accepted "video url or embed code"
Embed code will give the width and height values.
by Url code, user will have to give the desired width and height or just leave the default one.

Administration is recoded getting results faster.

The search function will be using AJAX for a better performance. and this is Rev 598.  Just 2 more and i'll release it.
